Padauk Wood Knife Scale Blanks

Complete the handle for your handcrafted knife with a set of beautiful book-matched scales cut from solid padouk

These knife scale blanks provide excellent stability and brilliant red color that has earned padauk the informal name ''vermillion.'' Padauk's reddish-orange coloring darkens over time to a purplish brown.  The darkening can be slowed with the use of UV-inhibiting finishes. Good natural luster makes these blanks an excellent choice for almost any knife handle

Each set of scales is unique.  The scales you see are the scales you get.  

Scales are hand cut so size may vary, but measure at least 1.5" Wide x 5.25" Length x 3/8" thick. 

For protection, each set is finished in a light coat of shellac that is easily sanded off.
